I did some sums and worked out that over 5 Million of those will be affected by childhood sexual abuse according to the latest stats.
What is more horrifying is that those 5 Million people will suffer greatly in their lives particularly when the reality of what happened hits them and they start suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder!
That in turn affects their friends and loved ones as they try to support them. It also effects the health system as many of them will also suffer other mental illnesses and physical illnesses because of the crime inflicted on them for someone elses pleasure and power trip!
Sadly some will commit suicide as the pain is too much to bear.
It is time to stand up and say no to this continued abuse that is often hidden under the carpet, or not talked about like the big white elephant sitting in the lounge room.
If someone discloses to you please, please, listen to them, believe them and support them!
Remember the Survivor/Victim is 100% innocent! Do not ever blame them for it is totally the perpetrators fault!
With professional support and loved ones support they will make it through, they will never ever forget but they will make it through. We need you all to stand up and fight alongside these survivors who never deserved the atrocities that happened to them!
