It is better to heal and face pain than live a half life.

This is really important for us to remember when we think it's not worth facing the pain:

This is from Talking Trees:

Healing is difficult, but not nearly as difficult as not healing. Not healing is easy to do because it requires nothing, but the existence itself is a miserable one that can make all of life difficult. Not healing attracts drama rather than cooperation. It attracts dysfunction rather than peace. It also attracts disease rather than health. When we avoid the challenges of healing we tend to live life by trying to fill a whole within that cannot be filled by any of the distractions that we use. People, places and things bring us empty promises that continue to shine light on our void and reveal our pain when we side step healing. So whenever we think about how difficult healing is, consider the price that we have already paid for not healing. Healing is a heck of a bargain for what your life is worth.
