At last someone has picked up on the idea of the sex offenders public list that Derryn Hinch has been fighting for , for a long time now. I signed the petition.
Northern Territory is picking up the idea and calling it Daniel's Law. Which would be named after Daniel Morcombe. I am not sure of the full details but if you click on the link below you will here Derryn speak about it!

"DANIEL’S LAW
A Bill called “Daniel’s Law” will be introduced soon thus creating the Northern Territory Sex Offender Public Website.
It is modelled on Megan’s Law in the US. It will be a user friendly, searchable public website containing serious sex offenders details including; their name, photo, physical description, regional location, but not exact address, and (limited) details of their criminal record.
Daniel’s murderer committed heinous crimes against a number of young boys over a long period of time. One of these crimes occurred in Darwin.
We applaud the leadership shown by the N.T. Government and hope it spreads to all State and Territories soon."

This is great news! Now we need a national registrar but I guess as Derryn Hinch said one step at a time.
